Over 50 years of Serving Kids

In 1962, a group of business and community leaders got together to discuss the need of quality activates for young men in West Memphis, Arkansas. A piece of land with a small building was donated to this mission and the West Memphis Boys Club was formed. In 1963 we joined Boys Clubs of America. In 1969 we had outgrown our current facilities and moved into a brand new building located in the middle of town. Money for the move was raised with a building fund and the property was leased from the City of West Memphis for $1.00 per year. In 1999, to fulfill the requirements of being a member of Boys and Girls Club of America, we started accepting girl members. In 2003, the West Memphis Boys Club officially changed its name to Boys and Girls Club of Crittenden County.

The Boys and Girls Club of Crittenden County is a non-profit organization that provides programs and activities for over 1000 boys and girls in Crittenden County, Arkansas each year. We have a very diverse membership with kids from every neighborhood in our city and every town in our county. Many of our kids come from low to moderate-income households and from single parent homes – young people who are in much need of an organization like ours to show them the potential to create a better future for themselves.

OUR CLUB

Our club is committed to providing a program that assures and enhances quality of life for boys and girls as participating members of our diverse community. By addressing the social, physical, educational, and moral needs of our members, our mission will be accomplished. Our members will master the skills and character traits needed to become productive members of society.

By serving the wide range or economic standards, cultural backgrounds, needs and interests of all members, our program will empower all our youth to realize their full potential for growth and development. By fulfilling the role as advocate for our youth, our organization will demonstrate that this community truly cares for and desires that our members grow into contributing human beings, who are productive in the workplace. This program will guide them through the influences of the total environment by offering relevant, everyday, varied and diverse individual and group services, truly making us “The Positive Place for Kids”

On any given day, you can find members and dedicated, caring staff of our club doing homework, playing in our games room or gym, learning the latest technology skills in our state of the art computer lab, playing on one of our many sports teams, and mainly just having fun. In other words, we are there when kids need us most.
